Need boosted brakes but don’t have the clearance to install a typical single or dual diaphragm brake booster? If you are running a power steering pump then you are in luck as the Hydro Boost Hydraulic Brake Booster, from Cal Custom’s Brute range of braking solutions, utilises the hydraulic line pressure from your power steering system. Regardless of whether you are using a power rack or steering box, the Hydro Boost unit can be integrated into your existing system.

Cars with modified engines, typically those with large camshafts, can often have low vacuum at idle which reduces the effectiveness of a regular brake booster making the pedal hard to depress. The Hydro Boost Hydraulic Brake Booster eliminates this issue as there is zero reliance on the vacuum system, giving you a more consistent and predictable pedal feel.

Retrofitting the Hydro Boost unit is made simple thanks to the included mounting bracket which is pre-drilled to suit the widely used 3-3/8 inch 4-hole square bolt pattern, typically found on GM and universal style brake boosters, such as those available from Cal Custom.
Master cylinder fitment is also a simple affair, also using GM’s 2-stud pattern of 3-3/8 inch centres.
